Plenty of ads audits are a sales call with a PDF stapled on. Mine is the work itself. I start with your conversion tracking, because every number after it depends on it. Then what Smart Bidding is fed. In one account, someone renamed a form button from Send to Submit, and website leads read 0. Then the top three leaks, ranked by spend, and one change you can ship this week, hire me or not. I only need read-only access. I can see the account, but I can't change campaigns, budgets or billing. Within 24 hours, you get 5 to 7 pages, written by me. No call required. It's free at any spend level, for Google, Microsoft or Meta ads. Send the form on this page. I'm Conner Crowe.

Google Ads used to be called AdWords; same audit. E-commerce, service business or B2B, it's tuned to what you tell me in the form.

  • → Image coverage across the catalog
  • → Alt-text gaps
  • → Your top 10 products ranked by revenue signal against imagery
  • → Two competitor snapshots
  • → One sample lifestyle render of your worst-offender product

No signup. No nurture sequence. No discovery call required to receive it. After you send the form, add me as a read-only user so I can see the account; it takes about two minutes and every click is shown below. No signup and no call. I read your public store, so there's no account access to set up.

How access works

  1. Send the form

    About a minute

Your site, what you spend and what’s going wrong.

  2. Add me as read-only

    About two minutes

The link beside this opens the right screen in Google Ads. Click the blue plus button, enter hi@connercrowe.com, choose Read only and send the invitation.

  3. Read the audit

    Within 24 hours of access

A written PDF in your inbox, ranked by spend impact. Remove my access the day it lands if you like.

The real Google Ads screens, sped up. Read only lets me see campaigns, reports and billing. It can’t change campaigns, budgets or billing.

How the store audit works

  1. Send the form

    About a minute

Your store address and what's going wrong.

  2. I read your public store

    Nothing to grant

No account access and no call. I grade the catalog from what your buyers see.

  3. Read the audit

    Within 24 hours

A written PDF in your inbox, with one sample lifestyle render.

What recent audits moved
in three verticals.

The audit
matches your business.

The form asks what kind of business so the audit isn't generic. Three flavors, each 5 to 7 pages, free and written by me. Account audits come back within 24 hours of read-only access, the catalog audit within 24 hours of your request.

Home, furniture and decor.

The Catalog Lifestyle Gap Audit. Image-coverage scan, alt-text gap analysis, top 10 SKUs ranked by revenue signal vs imagery investment, two competitor snapshots, one sample lifestyle render of your worst-offender SKU.

For DTC home brands on Shopify.

Service business.

The Lead Quality Audit. Conversion-tracking stack review, primary-conversion signal review, whether booked appointments, not every form fill, reach the ad account as the conversion, top three intake leak points, sample qualified-lead scoring rubric tuned to your vertical.

For law, healthcare, home services, professional.

Other e-commerce or B2B.

The Tracking + Smart Bidding Audit. GTM container audit, GA4 event review, the conversion signal Google Ads + Meta are optimizing against, the top three changes to ship before you spend another dollar. Tuned to your stack.

For apparel, beauty, supplements, B2B services, anything else. Use the form above.

What an audit looks like

Three example pages on the same template I use for every custom audit, filled in for a made-up store so no client’s account is on show. Every page says so. Most real audits run 5 to 7 pages.

Example audit summary page for a made-up store: $48,212 spent in 90 days, a 5.1 return reported by Google Ads against 2.7 in Shopify, a chart of monthly spend against reported purchases and real orders, and the three things to do first. Flagged as an example. (opens a larger view)
Example summary. Three numbers, the trend behind them and the fixes to make first.
Example audit findings page for a made-up store: five findings in order of severity, starting with every purchase being counted twice. Flagged as an example. (opens a larger view)
Example findings, in order of severity. The first one is why the reported return is nearly double the real one.
Example audit Quality Score page for a made-up store: cost-weighted average 6.2, 41.7% of keyword spend rated below average for landing page, with a component table. Flagged as an example. (opens a larger view)
Example diagnostic page. Quality Score broken down by what Google is actually complaining about.

The agency model
starts with a sales call.

The senior who sold you the engagement is rarely the person doing the work. I run this differently. The first thing you get is a written audit you can read on your phone. If the audit is sharp, you book a call to talk through the findings. If it isn't, you keep the PDF and you've saved 30 minutes. No nurture sequence. No three-call discovery dance.

The audit goes to the same operator who would do the work. I write it personally from your account data. That's why it takes 24 hours and not 30 seconds.

It is also independent. I am one person, not an agency, and there is no retainer required after the audit lands. If your current agency runs the budget and you want a read that is not written by whoever is spending it, that is exactly what this is for. The longer answer is at how to get an independent second opinion.

The other audit: the free 25-page Setup Checklist PDF is the do-it-yourself version with no email gate. Google Ads audit cost covers what every audit on the market charges, and why this one is free.

The questions
I get on this.

Is the Google Ads audit really free?

Yes, at any spend level. There’s no retainer attached and no upsell in the memo. It’s free because it’s how I show the work. If it finds things worth fixing, the fix is a one-time project or monthly work, priced on my pricing page, and only if you want it.

What access do you need?

Read-only access to the account. After you send the form, open Admin in Google Ads, then Access and security, click the plus button, enter hi@connercrowe.com and set the access level to Read only. Read only lets me see the account but not change campaigns, budgets or billing, and you can remove it the day the audit lands or set it to expire on a date. If you’d rather use a manager account link, reply with your 10-digit account ID and I’ll send the request, but a manager link gives standard access, not read-only. For Microsoft Advertising or Meta, I’ll email the matching steps.

Which ad platforms does it cover?

Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) and Meta Ads. Ecommerce, service businesses and B2B. The audit is tuned to what you tell me in the form.

How long does it take, and what do I get?

A 5 to 7 page written audit within 24 hours of getting access, as a PDF in your inbox. No call is required to receive it. If you want to talk it through afterwards, the link to book is in the PDF.

Can I get a second opinion on my agency’s work?

Yes, and that’s a good reason to request one. I’m one person, not an agency, and nothing about the audit depends on you leaving them. You get a read that isn’t written by whoever is spending the budget.

Drop your URL and I'll send back the audit in 24 hours.

No discovery call required. The same operator who would do the work writes the audit.
