More people now ask AI who to hire, or where to buy. It answers with a short list of names. If yours isn't on it, you never hear about the customer you lost. In 2026, 45% of US adults used AI to find a local business, up from 6%. AI reads your website, then weighs what other sites say about you. One listing can mean a wrong answer. Send me your website. I'll ask ChatGPT, Google's AI answers and Perplexity 10 questions your customers really ask. Within 48 hours, you'll get every answer, plus a list of fixes, most important first. I ran it on my own business first, and AI named me in about one answer in a hundred. Your snapshot shows the same gap for your business. It's free, and I do it myself. Fill in the form below. I'm Conner Crowe.

I only use your email to send your snapshot. No newsletter unless you ask.

I only read public AI answers. No logins, and no patient or client records.

I may include your snapshot results in anonymized, pooled research like my AI answers field report. I never name or describe your business in it.

It happened to my own website: its security settings were stopping five AI tools, ChatGPT’s among them, from reading it, and nothing in my reports showed it. See what I found.

I take a limited number each month so I can send each one back within 48 hours. Rather talk first? Book a 30-minute call (opens Calendly in a new tab).

Questions I’d ask about you

  1. Where can I find the best kitchen remodeling in Boise, ID?
  2. Who do people in Boise, ID recommend for kitchen remodeling?
  3. Is [your business] any good?
  4. Who has the best reviews for kitchen remodeling in Boise, ID?
  5. What should kitchen remodeling cost in Boise, ID, and who’s fair?
  6. [Your business] or someone else: who should I pick for kitchen remodeling?

Examples only. Your real snapshot uses 10 questions written for your business, asked on three AI assistants.

I’ll copy what you typed into the form above. You just add your name and email.

Three steps, and you do the first one.

  1. You send your website

Fill in the form. It takes about a minute. No call, no passwords.

  2. I ask the AI assistants

I write 10 questions your customers would ask. I ask them on ChatGPT, Google’s AI answers (AI Overviews, the AI summary at the top of a Google search) and Perplexity, another AI assistant. I save every answer word for word.

  3. You get a short report

Within 48 hours, by email: every answer, who got named instead of you, and a list of fixes, most important first.

A sample: my own business.

I ran the full check on my own business first. Here are four of the real questions, a short piece of each AI answer, and the top of the fix list it gave me. My own check was much bigger than the free one.

First round: Sept 27 to Oct 3, 2026, asked from Washington State

Not named Asked ChatGPT · Sept 28

“Who offers a free Google Ads audit done by a real person, not a tool?”

“I found several companies explicitly offering free Google Ads audits performed by a human, rather than an automated grader.”

It named seven other businesses. Not me, even though this is exactly what I offer.

Not named Asked ChatGPT · Sept 28

“Who is the best fractional marketing lead for ecommerce brands?”

“If by “best” you mean the strongest fit for an ecommerce brand, rather than a universal ranking, there are several credible options I’d investigate.”

It named five other people. Not me. (A “fractional marketing lead” is a part-time head of marketing. That’s my job.)

Wrong fact Asked Claude, another AI assistant · Sept 28

“Conner Crowe reviews”

“I didn’t find any third-party review profiles, such as Google Business Profile, Clutch, or UpCity.”

Wrong. I do have a Google Business Profile, my listing on Google Maps, with 11 reviews averaging 5.0 stars. It said the same wrong thing when I asked again.

Named first Asked ChatGPT · Early Oct

“Google Ads consultant Spokane WA”

“best fit for hands-on consulting/account restructuring.”

It put me first on its list, by the name on my Google Maps listing. I asked this one after my first fixes were live, so it doesn’t prove the fixes worked.

Top of my fix list

“Done” means I made the change. Whether it moves the answers, I’ll know when I ask the same questions again.

  1. Say “free Google Ads audit, back within 24 hours” at the top of every page AI tools quote about me. Done

  2. Fix old profiles on other websites that still list my past jobs, and add a public profile that tells AI tools I’m not the other Conner Crowes. Done

  3. Ask a website still listing an old offer of mine to correct it, and ask the “best of” lists AI tools quote to include me. Correction sent

  4. Fill in the categories and services on my Google Maps listing, then copy it to Bing (Microsoft’s search engine), on its maps listing, Bing Places. Open

When people asked without using my name, AI named me in only 2 of 203 answers, about 1 in 100. When they asked about me by name, it got me in 41 of 48. Your free snapshot is 10 questions on 3 AI assistants (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity), each asked once. A bigger version comes with paid work.

AI tools could read every website. They recommended someone else.

Here’s what I found when I ran this check on six businesses between late September and early October: five of my clients, a mix of online stores and local service businesses, and my own. I only share client results combined, with no client named.

AI tools could open every website I tested. But across the five client businesses, each one was named in at most about 1 in 4 answers when people asked for a recommendation without using its name (about 5% to 25%).

When someone asked who to buy from, the AI went by what other websites say about you: review sites, online directories, “best of” articles and discussion forums. Most of the wrong facts came from an old listing somewhere, or from the business’s own pages saying two different things.

And plenty of people ask: 45% of US adults used AI to get a local recommendation in 2026, up from 6% a year earlier (BrightLocal’s 2026 survey of 1,002 US adults).

My own website

In June my website’s security settings were quietly stopping five AI tools from reading it, and nothing in my reports showed it. Once I fixed it, all five could get in.

Copilot (Microsoft’s AI assistant) used my pages as a source 2,189 times between June 28 and September 25. On the questions where it used me most, up to 37 percent of its sources were my pages. Microsoft only shows a sample, and the number goes up and down a lot.

So AI tools read my pages often, to explain what things cost or how they work. Not once did one of those come from someone asking who to hire. That gap, being read but not recommended, is what the snapshot looks for.

Nobody controls what an assistant recommends.

Ask an AI the same question twice in one afternoon and only about a third of the websites it relies on will be the same. What I can promise is a snapshot you can check yourself, and a fix list with the most important fix first.

Straight answers, before you ask.

Is the AI Answer Snapshot really free?

Yes. No call, no passwords, no contract. It’s free because it’s the easiest way to show you how I work. Use the fix list yourself, give it to whoever runs your website, or hire me.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend me?

No, and be careful with anyone who says they can. Nobody controls what an AI assistant recommends. What you get is where you stand today, what’s holding you back, and which fixes are worth doing.

What is AI search optimization? Is it the same as AI SEO or answer engine optimization?

Yes, those are all names for the same thing: getting your business mentioned, with the right facts, when someone asks an AI assistant like ChatGPT who to buy from. Regular SEO is about showing up in Google’s list of links. This is about the AI naming you in its answer.

Do I need an AI SEO agency?

Not to start. First find out what the AI assistants say about you. In five of the six businesses I checked, the problem wasn’t their own website. It was what other websites said about them, and whether it was true. The snapshot tells you which problem you have before you pay anyone to fix it.

What do you need from me?

Your website and where you sell. A competitor and a question you think customers ask are optional, and they help me pick better questions. I don’t need any passwords. I read the same answers any customer sees.

What happens after the snapshot?

You get it by email within 48 hours. If you want me to do the fixes, that’s The Answer Plan, one job at $7,500: a bigger version of the check, with more questions on more AI assistants, a 60-minute walkthrough of what it found, the fixes, three answer pages written and published, and the check run again 90 days later, capped at 30 hours of my time in a written scope. Or I keep it right for $2,500 a month, month to month.

Does this work for online stores and for service businesses?

Yes. The questions change with what you sell and where. An online store, Shopify or otherwise, gets the questions people ask before they buy. A local business, like a plumber or a dentist, gets the ones people ask about its town.
